PROPERTY SUPERVISOR
SHANGWE PARKER
As Property Supervisor for The Habitat Company, Shangwe Parker is responsible for 825 units for the Affordable Housing Management group. Mr. Parker joined Habitat in 2004 as a Property Manager, where he was instrumental in transforming a troubled property into a desirable community. Through his efforts, this community received a CAMME Award from the Chicagoland Apartment Association for Property Excellence.
Mr. Parker has held various positions in his six years with Habitat that included the relocation coordinator and on-site construction coordinator for Riverside Village, formerly known as Eden Green Cooperative.
Other notable interests include his involvement with LINK Unlimited program, which is designed to provide educational services and mentoring to economically disadvantaged African American youth in the Chicago area. Mr. Parker also sits on the Chicago Housing Authority's Owners Resource Council, which helps develop some of CHA's policies that pertain to its administration of the Housing Choice Voucher Program in Chicago.
Mr. Parker has a B.A. in Economics from Kenyon College and is a licensed Realtor in Illinois. He is also a Tax-Credit Specialist, a Certified Occupancy Specialist, a Certified Manager of Maintenance, and a Site-based Budgeting Specialist.
