VALERIE  GOLDEN


As Vice President of the Community Development Group for The Habitat Company, Valerie Golden manages the finance department of the Community Development Group. As part of The Habitat Company's court-appointed Receivership of the Chicago Housing Authority, Ms. Golden has played an integral role in the financial arena for the redevelopment of several of the largest public housing sites in the country, including Cabrini Green and the Henry Horner Homes. She is also involved in other affordable and market rate developments.

Prior to joining The Habitat Company, Ms. Golden was Manager of Internal Reporting for Crown Consolidated Industries where she was responsible for the design of the reporting system and financial analysis of the Crown family companies. These companies included textile, furniture, cellular phone, barge operations and real estate ventures.

In addition to being a member of both the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, she serves on several community boards, including the DePaul University Alumni Board and the Glenbrook School District 34 Facilities Management Board.

Ms. Golden is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelors of Arts degree from DePaul University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management.
