Matt Fiascone is President of The Habitat Company, where he leads the firm’s strategic vision, growth, and investment platform across development, acquisitions, redevelopment, and capital markets. With more than 35 years of real estate experience, Matt oversees initiatives that drive long-term value creation across Habitat’s portfolio, with a strategic focus on core and growth markets throughout the Great Lakes region through transformative projects.
Since joining Habitat in 2011, Matt has been instrumental in structuring and executing complex capital events, including development joint ventures, recapitalizations, acquisitions, and large-scale redevelopments. He has led the expansion of Habitat’s institutional relationships across both debt and equity, forming strategic partnerships that support disciplined growth, repositioning, and portfolio optimization.
As President, Matt guides the integration of Habitat’s vision across the organization, aligning investment strategy, development, and operations while preserving and enhancing its strong, team based culture. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded its geographic footprint, with a continued emphasis on redevelopment opportunities that enhance asset quality, sustainability, and community impact.
Prior to joining Habitat, Matt served as Senior Vice President at Inland Real Estate Development Corporation, where he originated and executed real estate transactions exceeding $1 billion in asset value and negotiated and managed equity joint ventures across multiple markets.
Matt is an active industry leader and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Multifamily Housing Council. He is also Chair of the Board of Directors for SolvTrust Financial Corporation, a bank holding company. Previously, he served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Inland Bank and Trust and on the advisory committee for Northcrest Developments’ Downsview project in Toronto. Matt is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences and industry forums.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Bradley University and is a licensed real estate designated managing broker in Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, and Missouri.
