Wendy Deetjen

As Senior Regional Manager with The Habitat Company, Wendy oversees market-rate multifamily properties across Chicago, Detroit, and Minneapolis. Wendy’s experience in multifamily property management began in 1990 and she has held leadership roles since 2007.  Before joining The Habitat Company, she was Area Vice President for The Laramar Group where she managed multifamily properties in Chicago and Minneapolis and lead the expansion of the company’s footprint in value-add investments.  Wendy also served as Regional Manager for Lincoln Property Company where she oversaw and grew the company’s high-rise portfolio throughout downtown Chicago.

In these roles, Wendy establishes and maintains client relationships, and oversees financial performance, business plans, operations, marketing, facilities, new construction lease-ups, and capital projects for investments across a range of asset types. Wendy is a successful team builder evidenced by investing in team members through providing direction, support, training, and mentorship.

Wendy’s wide range of management experience includes private and publicly owned assets, owner-operator and 3rd party management, market rate, affordable, retail/commercial. While her current expertise is in the Chicago, Detroit, and Minneapolis markets, she has experience across the US in markets such as Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Indianapolis, San Jose, and San Diego. Wendy earned a BA in Communication Management from the University of Dayton.
