Gina Fortune-Harmon Named CAA Board President

Gina Fortune-Harmon, our Vice President of Property Management for the Market Rate Portfolio, has been elected as the President of the Chicagoland Apartment Association (CAA)'s Board of Directors, a prestigious position that speaks volumes about her dedication, expertise, and leadership in the property management industry.


Gina’s election as President of CAA's Board of Directors is a testament to her unwavering commitment and visionary leadership. The CAA, an association representing thousands of apartment industry professionals, stands to benefit immensely from Gina's rich experience and strategic insight.


This new role is not just an honor but a platform where her influence and initiatives can shape the future of the apartment industry in Chicagoland and beyond. Gina has been a member of CAA since 2007, and she has served on the Board of Directors since 2017. She has served as both First Vice President and Treasurer.


With a career spanning over three decades, Gina has been a pivotal force in the multifamily industry since 1984. Her experience encompasses a broad spectrum of roles and responsibilities, having worked with both private and national organizations.


Her expertise is extensive and diverse, covering all property types, including construction, lease-up, financially and physically stressed assets, acquisitions, renovations, and repositions. Known for her organizational, management, and financial skills, Gina is not just a leader but a successful team builder.


At Habitat, Gina is entrusted with the financials and operations of the market rate portfolio across five states. Her role is critical, demanding a fine balance of strategic oversight and hands-on management, a challenge she meets with unparalleled proficiency.


Gina’s credentials further underscore her expertise. She is a licensed managing broker in the states of Illinois and Minnesota and holds esteemed designations such as the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) and Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
