Amy Scheiden, AIC
Risk Manager
Amy Scheiden has been a member of The Habitat Company team since 2020. As Risk Management Coordinator for Habitat, Amy is a member of the Legal Team and responsible for administering Habitat’s insurance programs and all risk-management initiatives including placement of coverage, management of claims and loss prevention. In her role at Habitat, Amy works with every department within the organization and team members from the onsite teams up to the executive leadership team.
Amy brings over 20 years of insurance experience working in different capacities for an insurance carrier, brokerages, and in-house risk management teams. Amy’s career began with a focus on claims management providing all-lines claim services to clients within multiple industries such as manufacturing, distribution, retail, real estate, and professional services. As the Midwest Regional Claims Manager for Whole Foods Market, she administered the claims for over 30 Whole Foods’ stores, a distribution center, bake house and commissary within seven states and Ontario, Canada.
Amy served as Assistant Vice President of Risk Management for Inland Risk and Insurance Management Services from 2009 through 2019. During her time at Inland, Amy managed the claims and loss control for diversified real estate assets in excess of $25 billion and servicing five REITs, a bank holding company, land and condo development companies, construction entities, property management companies, an association captive, and tax-deferred property exchanges.
Amy holds a Property and Casualty Insurance Producer's license, an Associates in Claims designation (AIC), and is a member of The Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) and Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS).
