Forging a Greener Future

Whether it's obtaining LEED certification for our properties, or upgrading equipment to be more efficient, at The Habitat Company, we are always working towards a more eco-conscious, carbon-neutral future. Our commitment to excellence extends to the environment and, from a  maintenance and development standpoint, we plan on continuing pushing forward towards a greener tomorrow.

Social Programs

  • Strategic Partnership with CARA Collective for furthering racial equity in hiring practices and offering people opportunities for career advancement.

  • Generating community equity initiatives via Habitat’s Racial Equity Committee.

  • Habitat Doing More Together campaign. A dedicated campaign on behalf of Habitat to further expand our efforts in philanthropy and giving back to the communities in which we work and operate. 

  • Generations Housing Initiatives partner, for offering essential services to our affordable communities. 

  • National Day of Service commitment. Habitat puts together a service day every year where Habitat team members across the country participate in volunteer efforts within their community. 

  • Active Move For Hunger Partner, across full market rate property portfolio, to help end food waste in the moving process.

  • BPI partner. BPI is dedicated to advancing innovative solutions to pressing issues of social justice and quality of life in the Chicago region.

  • Active DEI initiatives for on-site, regional, and corporate offices. 

  • Annual clothing and toy drives.

Ethical, transparent operations have always been Habitat’s approach when working with our partners and residents. Our multi-layered method has helped us maintain and grow our partnerships and resident relationships since our founding 50 years ago.
