Ricardo Betancourt

Ricardo Betancourt oversees 2,200 affordable units as Senior Regional Manager for the Habitat Affordable Group business line. Since joining The Habitat Company in 1998, Ricardo has held numerous managerial positions. With over 10 years of experience in affordable housing, Ricardo has managed a range of properties with varying subsidies including senior and family communities, section 8 Project Base, Tax Credit, Section 811, Public Housing, Housing Choice Vouchers, and Project Base Vouchers with the Chicago Housing Authority.

He is responsible for implementing policies, procedures, and best practices, while also working in tandem with the onsite team to meet and exceed financial and operational performance goals for each asset. Ricardo leads the Habitat’s REAC team ensuring compliance at over 60 communities.

Ricardo prides himself on providing team members with the support, tools, resources, and information they need to be successful. Ricardo holds an IL Real Estate Leasing License and certifications in Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), and Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) from the National Center of Housing Management.
