In partnership with Walgreens, Generations Housing Initiatives (GHI) hosted on-site COVID-19 vaccine & booster clinics for residents at Pines of Edgewater I & II, Kenmore Plaza, and West Point Plaza.
In addition to the booster vaccine, residents who needed a flu vaccine were able to receive it at the same time. The GHI team was thrilled to see that 70% of the residents who previously received the vaccine at an on-site clinic returned for the booster.
The resident services coordinators are working with residents to schedule appointments for the vaccine at nearby pharmacies if they were not able to attend the on-site clinics. Residents continue to be appreciative that the COVID-19 vaccine has been a offered to them right in their community room, and they have a resident services coordinator that is able to assist them with the registration process which can be overwhelming for some older adults.
